Summary of Responsibilities:
The National Business Development Manager is responsible for the leadership of the EGO Commercial product line, identifying and pursuing new business opportunities on a national scale, by developing and executing sales strategies to generate leads, building relationships with potential clients, and close deals to achieve overall revenue targets and market penetration goals. 

Primary focus, building long-term relationships, revenue and profit.  The National BDM must possess a strong sense of ownership and urgency that drives results and must be Customer and Service Focused and have a Relationship-Motivated Approach. 

Facilitating effective internal and external communications, coupled with the ability to turn data into actionable insights are key skills required to succeed.  This position will be focused on working directly across all areas of the supply chain from product development to the end consumer including Channel Marketing, Customer and Technical Service and Finance as well as the key point of contact supporting the customer needs. 

 Key Job Responsibilities:
  • Develop sales strategies: Work alongside the Director to create strategies that align with the company’s goals.  Consider market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs.
  • Build relationships: Establish and maintain relationships with key customers and other departments.
  • Negotiate agreements: Negotiate and close deals with large customers.
  • Monitor’s performance: Track sales performance and suggest improvements.
  • Prepare Reports: Generate sales forecasts and reports.
  • Identify new opportunities: Research new customers and market opportunities.
  • Coordinate with other departments: Work cross-functionally with global business, product management, service, channel marketing and inside sales.
  • Represent the company: Participate in customer events, conferences, and trade shows.

Account Management
  • Travel on a regular basis to National Accounts home office locations and branch locations.
  • Product Knowledge: Maintain a deep understanding of the parts and service needs.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of the EGO Commercial product category.
  • Customer relationship management to promote healthy relations and profitable growth.
  • Negotiate programs, promotions to deliver agreed account proformas.
  • Lead and participate in product line reviews to land new customers and expand product offering to current accounts.
  • Track and monitor account performance metrics and prepare regular reports.
  • Organize training sessions for accounts and their key employees to enhance their knowledge around EGO Commercial innovation.
  • Conduct market research to identify current business expansion and new business opportunities and stay informed about industry trends and competitor activities.

Sales Target Achievement
  • Achieve or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales target. 
  • Recruit and onboard new accounts in alignment with annual goals 
Business Development
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities through cold-calling, networking, and lead-generation.
  • Generate end-user demand by conducting product demonstrations with key stakeholders such as landscapers, government entities, property managers, facility managers, and contractors
  • Work actively with the right dealers that provide access to the identified end users of our products. Outside sales managers, branch managers, events, training.
Customer Support and Relationship Management
 
  • Provide comprehensive training and ongoing sales and service support to contracted accounts.
  • Foster long-term relationships with both new and existing accounts.
  • Collaborate closely with key EGO Commercial retailers to expand growth opportunity. 

Additional Duties
  • Earn trust and respect from internal and external stakeholders by consistently demonstrating integrity.
  • Manage travel and time efficiently to maximize productivity while adhering to budget constraints.
  • Utilize CRM software effectively to maintain detailed records and manage customer relationships.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant field experience
  • 10 + years of experience managing high profile accounts, professional end-user is a plus
  • Prior outdoor power equipment experience a plus
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills within all levels of an organization
  • Strong understanding of Product, Service and Relationship building
  • Excellent business management and development skills
  • Good IT skills
  • Candidate to reside in the Central US is preferred. 
Supervisory Responsibility:
  • This is an individual contributor role, with no direct reports
Travel:
  • This position requires up to 60% travel: Some weekend events and possible international travel.
  • This individual is expected to spend time within Chervon’s corporate office in the Chicago area.
