Graphic Designer

About Our Opportunity

To be successful in this role, the Graphic Designer should have an in-depth knowledge of graphic design, styles and layout techniques. You should also have experience executing creative projects from conception to completion with a strong focus on consumer product packaging.  You will be comfortable multi-tasking, working under tight timelines and collaborating with team members.  Experience or a significant interest in photo and video a plus.

Ultimately, you will ensure that the design team promotes our brands through delivering high quality creative pieces.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design consumer retail packaging, merchandising displays, POP, sales materials, digital banner ads, social media assets and various internal communications;
  • Refine images, fonts and layouts using graphic design software;
  • Generate ideas to portray concepts and advertise products/services;
  • Design original pieces, including illustrations, logos and infographics;
  • Maintain brand consistency throughout all our creative projects;
  • Liaise with marketing and design teams to ensure deadlines are met;
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and tools;
  • Liaise with third party providers and agencies, when needed.

Job Requirements

  • Proven work experience as a Graphic Designer or similar role working on a variety of mediums including print, web and social;
  • Portfolio of completed design projects, including consumer retail packaging;
  • Hands-on experience with image editing software (Photoshop);
  • Highly proficient in design software (e.g. InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator);
  • Strong aesthetic skills with the ability to combine assorted colors, fonts and layouts;
  • Attention to visual details;
  • Ability to meet deadlines and collaborate with a team;
  • This job is based in Naperville, IL with occasional travel to photo/video shoots or for outside vendor meetings;  
  • This position may require 15-20% travel;
  • Experience in photography, preferred.

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design or related field;
  • At least 5-7 years of experience in a creative role;
  • Strong knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite software;
  • A broad portfolio which demonstrates expertise across a range of platforms
  • Strong attention to detail;
  • Excellent project management skills;
  • Experience working with outside vendors, such as agencies and production companies and printers;
  • A passion for creating stunning visuals;
  • A solid understanding of the print production processes;
  • Strong typography skills;
  • Experience in packaging design preferred, but not required.
