Industrial Designer II

About Our Opportunity

The Industrial Designer II supports our senior design team by executing effective design solutions within time and budget constraints.  Our designer builds an understanding of the design process and develops product knowledge and user insights to enhance product design and solutions within our expanding brand portfolio.  The Industrial Designer II will also present design concepts to internal and external stakeholders.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Analyze the competitive market landscape and provide a competitive analysis including pain point testing;
  • Assist in VBL (Visual Brand Language) development;
  • Provide concept development; 
  • Perform assigned work with 2D development;
  • Perform 3D rendering and collaboration with 3D resources
  • Determine Human Factors and perform ergonomics and usability studies;
  • Develop market & design trend analysis;
  • Participate in open studio critiques;
  • Develop presentations and present to internal and external Chervon customers;
  • Assist with user research.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial design or equivalent;
  • 5+ years of experience in industrial design designing new consumer durable products;
  • Working experience with 2D Design Software Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign;
  • Experience in working with 3D Software such as Rhino and Keyshot (or similar programs);
  • Relevant industry experience preferred, preferably in the tooling industry;
  • This position requires approximately 15% travel; some international.
