Director Retail Account Management

About Our Opportunity

The Director, Retail Account Management will be responsible for driving incremental business by identifying profitable opportunities.  The Director, Retail Account Management will suggest forward-thinking ideas to promote our brands leading to increased sales and successful long-term client relationships with our retail account partners.  This opportunity reports to the Vice President Sales-North America.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identifies revenue opportunities within assigned retail accounts, collaborating with senior management, marketing, product development, product management tools and teams within Nanjing. Generates innovative ideas to support customers and boost brand awareness;
  • Sets and meets sales targets and specific performance metrics to align with business strategies;
  • Acts as liaison for internal and external communications with assigned retail accounts. Manages ongoing communications to ensure a positive relationship;
  • Stays up-to-date with product launches and provides support to customers and the sales teams;
  • Reports on sales results on a regular basis and suggest improvements;
  • Participates in cross functional groups to establish marketing campaigns, product direction and productive solutions;
  • Supervises and supports account managers and representatives to ensure customer satisfaction;
  • Organizes meetings with sales teams to ensure all members are on board and deliver within deadlines;
  • Facilitates enhancements to communications, tools, capabilities and product lines;
  • Ensures brand consistency;
  • Works with customers at a senior level to resolve issues and inquiries,
  • Uses customer feedback to improve customer experience;
  • Serves as a hands-on leader who can motivate and inspire employees and customers;
  • Performs other duties as assigned. 

Job Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in business or equivalent and seven to ten years of proven success as an account manager, product manager or project leader within a corporate retail environment; MBA a plus;
  • Must have a background in building and successfully executing new products within the retail environment;
  • Solid understanding of product development, manufacturing and distribution, pricing and customer service;
  • Successful in prior working experience within the tool manufacturing industry;
  • Appreciates and thrives within an entrepreneurial and private environment;
  • Familiarity with sales performance metrics;
  • Excellent communication skills with a customer service attitude;
  • Team management skills;
  • Strong analytical and organization skills;
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects;
  • Proven supervisory skills;
  • This position requires up to 50% travel. Some of the travel is international.
