Junior Demand Planner

About Our Opportunity

This Junior Demand Planning position is responsible for all forecasting activities associated with customers and products. The Demand Planner creates and maintains forecast models for their customers, incorporating business intelligence and forecast information gathered from sales, marketing, finance and other sources. 

The Junior Demand Planner is the integration point into the sales and operations organization. Basic forecast modeling is the main responsibility of this position. This position aids in establishing the dialogue each month for their products with key counterparts in Sales and Marketing as well as communicates forecast to the Supply Planning team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitors sales vs forecast for all products within a brand portfolio;
  • Manages forecast & orders with CPFR, sales team and supply planning to ensure right product at the right time;
  • Develops tools to help the communication of monthly variances to both sales and marketing and supply planning team;
  • Ensures any extraordinary/promotional activity is reflected in the forecast and communicated to supply planning team;
  • Challenges over/under sales patterns and implement forecast changes;
  • Participates in key monthly meetings with sales and marketing and other logistics support functions;
  • Develops reports to monitor performance metrics (Forecast Accuracy, Sales Projections etc.) as defined by Operations Director;
  • Defines CIP projects, other miscellaneous duties as assigned and any ad hoc requests.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in operations, supply chain, logistics, finance or a related field;
  • 2 years of experience in demand planning preferably with a consumer packaged goods company;
  • Oracle ERP & MRP knowledge preferred;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail;
  • Highly motivated self-starter;
  • Must be flexible and able to work in a fast paced environment.
